The theater program is thriving under the direction of Mrs. The Wake Forest High School Drama Club was founded in 1989. Wake Forest High School has a long-standing history of excellence with its theatre programs. ![]() Through lessons of empowerment, independence and integrity, the show sets out to recognize everyone’s potential despite first appearances. Legally Blonde – The Musical features a large ensemble and several big song-and-dance numbers. With the support of some new friends, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world. While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school. ![]() Her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law School. This show is action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances.Įlle Wood appears to have it all. Based on the movie, Legally Blonde – The Musical follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes scandal in pursuit of her dreams. With a cast of 45 and a crew of 20 students under the direction of Mrs. ![]() Tickets are available at the Wake Forest High School ticket box 30 minutes before each performance and online at. Thursday through Saturday on March 24, 25, 26, March 31, April 1 and 2. The play will be presented at 2 and 7 p.m. I will try to drive by one day this week to see if the buildings have changed much.The award-winning Theatre Department at Wake Forest High School will present Legally Blonde – The Musical for six days and nights in March and April. The doors were closed in 1989 as a newer building was constructed for the middle school. All of them had very fond memories of the school. When I first posted these pictures on Facebook a few years ago, I started to hear from many students that attended the school during segregation and after segregation. When desegregation started, the school became the Wake Forest-Rolesville Middle School. The high school was built in 1939.Īnother building, the agriculture building/shop was brought to the site in 1942. He was also part owner and president of Sears, Roebuck and Company. These schools were founded by Julius Rosenwald, African American leader, educator and philanthropist. This was historically a Rosenwald School. Dubois School was also called the Wake Forest Graded School (colored), Wake Forest Colored High School, and later Wake Forest Rolesville Middle School. They very nicely gave me access to photograph the interior of some buildings. The day I was there, two members of that association were on the grounds. It’s been awhile since I have been by and I am not sure of the current status of the buildings. I am not sure of the status of their efforts. Awhile ago a group was formed, The Dubois Alumni Association, and they were working to restore some of the buildings and clean them up. Dubois School in Wake Forest, North Carolina, hoping to get close enough to get interior pictures.Īs you can see from my pictures, the structures are in great disrepair.
